How to Maintain Your Fade Between Visits
May 10, 2026·4 min read
A great fade looks incredible the day you leave the chair. But by week two, most men let it slip — and by week three, it's gone.
1. Use the Right Clippers at Home
You don't need to touch the fade itself — leave that to your barber. But keeping your neckline clean between visits makes a massive difference.
2. Moisturize Your Scalp
Dry scalp makes fades look dull and flaky. A lightweight scalp oil applied 2–3 times a week keeps the skin healthy and the hair looking fresh.
3. Protect Your Hair at Night
Cotton pillowcases create friction that disrupts your style. Switch to a satin or silk pillowcase, or wear a durag or wave cap.
4. Book on a Schedule
The best way to maintain a fade is to never let it grow out too far. Most clients look their sharpest on a 2–3 week cycle.
