How Often Should You Actually Get a Haircut?
February 5, 2026·3 min read
There's no universal answer — but there are guidelines based on your style, hair type, and how sharp you want to look.
Fades & Short Styles: Every 2–3 Weeks
Fades grow out fast. If you want to maintain that clean, defined look, 2 weeks is ideal. 3 weeks is the outer limit.
Medium Length: Every 3–4 Weeks
Medium-length styles have more flexibility. A monthly cut keeps things clean and manageable.
Longer Styles: Every 4–6 Weeks
Longer hair grows more slowly in terms of visible change. A trim every 4–6 weeks removes split ends and keeps the shape intact.
The Best Strategy: Book in Advance
The clients who always look sharp are the ones who book their next appointment before they leave the chair.
